Hi! I don't have custom downpipes (yet). This exhaust system is cat-back straight piped. You will not find downpipes off-the-shelf for your car, I'm afraid. I will design and build my own when I get the time, but you can always have them custom made for you on demand, too. Ferrita, a Swedish company, has made a beautiful turbo-back straight pipe system for my friends ML420 CDI. If you are looking for high quality. There is also the option to turn to the local garage.

Butt-dyno says ~400 bhp (and I guess ~700 Nm). It has not been measured!

Yeah, I've had it for about 12 years now, and my dad 4 years before me. I've owned 3 cars in total during this time, and I still have 2 of them. I see pros and cons with keeping cars for a longer time. It's not really about it being worth it or not since it's a hobby, right? ;) Hehe yeah, I guess not many keep their cars for this long. I don't see myself selling this car... but I will get myself more cars in the future!

@@bkorven In any case, it is an individual, special car that you don't see everywhere. Especially with a V8 diesel in this vehicle class, this was only available from Mercedes. In any case, Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series had a maximum of 6 cylinder biturbo. Has the engine been chip tuned or is it original? If I were you, I wouldn't sell this car either, I'm sure there are a lot of memories attached to it. have fun with it.

@@ugurlale3430 Yeah, Mercedes was the only manufacturer to put a V8 diesel in this size of car, which is cool. The engine was chip tuned before, now it has tuned ECU-software instead. There are definitely fond memories attached to it, but I also just like the car for what it is! Thank you!

om642 easily 300hp and not so heavy as this one

Hi. I used degreaser, but it also took some elbow grease to get rid of it all. Spray degreaser, let it sit a short while, brush, rinse, repeat until satisfactory result.

A simple way of gaining a boost in power is to straight pipe the exhaust system. DPF delete will make the biggest difference, and with optimized ECU-software you should be able to make 400hp.

@@mb056 Oh, that is unfortunate.. It is only the small circular gaskets underneath the oil cooler that usually needs replacement, right? They are not that hard to reach! I never had this problem myself, but I have renewed the seals as preventative measure.

First of all, you need to distinguish between the pre-facelift and the facelift W211. The pre-facelift 280/320 CDI both use the OM648 in-line 6, while the facelift 280/320 CDI both uses the OM642 V6. The pre-facelift is the more popular option, being more reliable. If you compare the 280 and 320 from the same facelift generation, there are basically no differences, hardware-wise. I've read somewhere that they have different injectors, but can't confirm. Long story short: 280 CDI and 320 CDI are the same. Different software tuning from factory.

​@@bkorvenGood night. I have an e420 cdi too. Without Egr, without catalyst and without particulate filters. I bought a file to modify the ECU so that everything worked without errors. Additionally, increase power and torque. But this file, I think is not entirely correct. I wanted to ask you if you could sell me the file that was made for your car. A Russian did it to me, but I think something is not quite right. If yours is okay, if you sell me a copy of the file, I could try testing it in my car. Thank you.
